The SD2801C constant temperature cone penetration tester is designed and manufactured according to the technical requirements and relevant regulations of the Chinese standard GB/T269 "Determination of cone penetration of lubricating grease and petroleum grease". It is mainly suitable for testing the cone penetration of lubricating grease, petroleum grease, and other oils. It also meets the technical requirements of GB/T4509 "Determination of Penetration of Asphalt" and is suitable for testing the penetration of asphalt and lubricating grease (or stone grease).

This instrument can also be used for the inspection of solid particles, powders, colloids, frozen bodies and other materials, as well as food raw materials such as cheese, sugar gum, butter, malt extract, cream, fermented bodies, etc. It can be widely used in the food industry, transportation and highway engineering, and other industrial sectors.

Cone penetration refers to the depth to which a standard cone (usually carrying a total weight of 150 grams, but with a specified weight of 100 grams) sinks into a lubricating grease sample insulated at 25 ℃ within 5 seconds. The unit is 1/10 millimeter. The greater the penetration, the softer the lubricating grease, that is, the lower the viscosity; On the contrary, it indicates that the lubricating grease is harder, that is, the viscosity is higher. The penetration test of asphalt does not use a standard cone, but a standard pointed needle with a total load of 100 grams.
